Who is MP6?
MP6 comes with a diverse background of musical talent and professionalism. Each musician brings to the table valuable experience and musicianship. Michael and MP6 have been hosting a bi-monthly (2nd & 4th Wednesdays) jazz jam. We highly encourage young aspiring jazz players and seasoned pro's to come and play, there are few opportunities for musicians to play with a quality group and exercise our creative and improvisational skills.
Michael has returned home after many years as a professional trumpet player. Working with the top cruise lines in the industry, Michael has been the Musical Director for some of the largest cruise ships sailing today. As a Lead trumpet player and jazz soloist, working on a cruise line is very demanding work. We have the opportunity to perform 7 nights a week for several thousand people each night.
Working as a Musical Director allowed me the experience of working and leading many talented musicians in large and small jazz ensembles. In our professional capacities I have been responsible for knowledge and skills of all musical styles, phrasing, endurance, sound, technique and repertoire.
Michael decided to come back to the Pacific Northwest and bring his talents an experience back to Longview. His family has deep roots here in the community having owned and operated "Henri's" for well over 45 years, definitely one of the best restaurants in the area.
In 2010 Michael and Bill Comin decided to finally get together and put together a small group jazz ensemble. We have played for many years together in various types of groups such as LCC Jazz Band, Symphonic Band and the Southwest Washington Symphony together. This community needs a good small group dedicated to bringing back classic instrumental jazz standards.
There are so many great songs and styles to choose from, we wanted a group of professional musicians that could bring back these almost forgotten songs. MP6 has the ability to play many styles ranging from the 1930's to current hits of today.
With our skill level and Michael's expertise from the cruise ships, we are able to put together any kind of performance to fit your event or show.

We love to play in many different styles with Latin and Bossa Nova grooves to be one of our favorites. "Bill is an exceptional drummer who really knows how to play the styling of Antonio Carlos Jobim."
Swing is also one of the groups favorites. We have a repertoire that ranges from teh 1930's to today. Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Thelonius Monk, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Louis Bonifa, Fats Waller, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, John Coltrane, Louis Jordan, Stanley Turrentine, Grover Washington, Chuck Mangione, Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, Keith Jarret, Rogers & Hammerstein to name a few....
We are available for Festivals, Concerts, Clubs, Fundraisers, Charity Events, Cocktail Music, Lounge Music and Weddings.
